How do I pull the stem out of this faucet? It just turns and turns either direction unless I push it in while turning. Does it just come straight out?
This faucet for a long time has had a slow drip even when shut off as tightly as possible and lately I don't think it's turning on all the way. It only turns open about 1/2 turn then it seems to slip even when I push in while turning. It's not driving a sprinkler like on my other facets.
I got it out. I put the screw back in the end with a few fender washer behind it and pulled on them with a channel locks. It was stubborn but when it let go it sent me falling backwards head over heels. I'll take it up to the hardware store to see what they suggest.
