my hot water heater is varying water temp to my shower. somedays its extremely hot and other days its room temp. Any thoughts?
 
Not without knowing what type of Water heater you have.
Make and model # would help. Tank or tankless?
 
Is it just the shower or are all fixtures affected? If it's just the shower than I'd look first at the shower valve. If it's all of them the thermostat in the WH is suspect.
