Help with wiring of whole home humidifier?

Hi all,
I hooked up an Aprilaire 700 series humidifier that's installed on the supply side and the digital control (model 60) mounted on the return side. I have an Amana Distinction gas furnace.
Could someone who's familiar with the wiring of each be able to give me the wiring diagram? I just want to make sure I have it wired correctly as I never seems to run even though the humidity in my home can be at 30%. I currently don't have it wired to my home's thermostat and also wonder if it should be.

I have an Aprilaire also. The power supply plugs into an outlet that is only hot when the blower motor is running. My humidistat is just an on off switch which goes on and off by the humidity level you have set. Two wires run from the humidistat to the Aprilaire unit. No connection to the thermostat.
