I have an old (25 years) Grinnell freeze proof faucet that is leaking because the bib washer is bad. I have been unable to find a replacement washer as it appears to be unique in that it doesn't have a hole through it. I have tried numerous plumbing stores and discussed with several plumbers but no one seems to have even run across this previously. I would like to avoid replacing the entire faucet. Any leads on where I might find such an animal?

I really don't have a very good picture, except one of the stem, which I hopefully attached.
Thanks

If you can, take a pic of the stem, next to a tape measure. Our experts have a pretty keep eye for matching up what you need.

I wasn't present when it was taken apart so not sure what holds washer on. Thinking it might have a recess that snaps on end of piston, but not sure. I knew this would be a long shot, but was hoping somebody might have come across this type of faucet before. Sorry for the scant details. The faucet is not at my home so can't get another photo any time soon.

Frodo,
Thanks for your persistence. I only know the washer doesn't have a hole and was hoping that might be something you might have seen before. I didn't pay much attention when it was dismantled as it looked to be an easy fix at the time. The house with the faucet is a couple hundred miles away so I won't be able to get to it near-term. Sorry if I'm wasting your time, but thanks.
