I've been working on replacing my roommates Sandpoint. I have no prior experience. I am at a loss. I'll do my best to explain what we have done. Plz take it easy, as I already stated idk what I'm doing.

Old lines (42in of steel pipe 1"diameter) were removed and replaced by PVC roughly 36' also 1" diameter. New pump was installed by roommate. I've tried priming it with the lines closed, opened, primed from the outside pipe jetting out from the ground. And right at the pump. Did with closest faucets open and shut, same with furthest.

Nothing seems to be holding. What am I missing here??

You have a lot of steel and threaded fittings on the suction side, which are hard to seal from suction leaks. Use foamy shaving cream to see where the suction leaks are as a hole will suck into the foam. It is also almost impossible to prime and keep a prime when the pump is not the high spot in the suction line. With the PVC higher than the steel pipe the air will never come down and into the pump. I am also not sure your sand point is even working as it needs to flow enough water to satisfy the pump.
