Delta and Moen use a mounting bracket assembly to insure a rock solid, wobble free mount. It’s installed before the tile.

Looks like Jaccuzi just uses three screws through the flange and into the floor.

search for Tub Filler and you will see my other post/issue with some pictures. It is not how we would do its but I think we are okay and if we have a problem with stability my handy hubby could figure out a way to add a bracket. Tile is installed with thin set and they did reinforce the floor with sistered 2 x 8's. I think we are fine with weight because there was originally a huge jacuzzi that held 70 to 80 gallons and two people and we never fell into the room below. We liked the small size of the new tub (and there were not many choices) because we don't use that much and it fills in space with a nicer balance.... I will send a picture next week and you can judge. It is an option if you are removing a large jacuzzi.

It might be fine with just lag screws into the double layer of plywood.

If not buy a 6” square of aluminum plate, use the faucet post to mark the pattern. Drill holes. Place aluminum plate under subfloor. Use bolts with nuts and washers to mount it through the floor.

Thats a good idea. Our biggest problem is we generally DIY jobs and always go the extra mile with good products and taking a long time to do things... we are not on a clock so can afford to stop and re think and change at any juncture. We are older now and its sometimes hard to not be able to do ourselves..... we still do a bunch but the demo of bathroom was a bridge too far..... hubby did sinks, I'll do painting so sort of a transition.
Thanks for the advice.
PS...... not sure if its will go away when it dries or not be noticeable but after tiler left we can see a sort of bleeding of the charcoal grout onto the porcelain tile.... do you think that will come out with a good scrubbing?
