Leak only occurs when weight in tub and for bath not a shower. It looks like its coming from overflow but water is not that high. Could there be hairline crack and if so recommendations to fix. Going to replace gasket and caulk. Customer can't afford new tub. Thoughts?

Unless my eyes are deceiving me, using that picture you posted, I clearly see wetness coming from the overflow connection and gasket.

If tub level is below the overflow and it’s leaking, then it’s getting hit with water on the top of the plate when you fill the tub. Sealing it should help.
