OK, just finishing up on a bathroom remodel and have installed new pedestal sinks. Coppers pipes are 1/2" and I didn't want remove the existing line valves to install chrome escutcheon plates.

Can anyone recommend a plate to use that looks most appropriate for existing (retrofit) work? I probably care more than I should when it comes to "doing things right" and I don't want to use a 2-piece "floor & ceiling plate" unless that's what a professional would also use. Is there a better product though?

Any help is really appreciated.

There is a plate that is plastic with a chrome plate covering that is "split" very unobtrusively. It looks good at initial install, but I don't know that the chrome plating will hold up over time.
