Is there any way to tell from these pictures whether or not this house has a soft water loop pre installed? New construction but didn’t spec the home myself so I’m not sure how the plumbing was done. Thanks.

Turn that valve off by your purple arrow that you drew and see if it shuts the water off to the whole house.

If it does then it seems it could be used for a water treatment loop. I don’t like their choice of a valve right there. I would rather see a full port ballvalve.

Thanks for the reply. I think I determined the company who did the plumbing on the house build. According to them that is a pressure reduction valve and suggested that I could loop in a softener there but would need to use potassium pellets instead of sodium because the outside irrigation water would also be softened. Because of the ridiculous cost of potassium pellets we are now considering a salt free water conditioner instead of a softener.

The valve near the purple arrow is a gate valve. It’s not a prv.

Other than that, you’re probably correct. ✌️
