Dishwasher backup into the sink

The attached picture shows the current arrangement under our kitchen sink. I would like to find a way to keep the dishwasher from back up both sides of the sink. Any help is appreciated.

Looking at the upside down picture is giving me a headache.
They make center outlet tees that have a baffle in them to prevent the problem your having. Provided you don't have a partial stoppage in the waste line.

Dishwasher also doesn't drain every time.

If the dishwasher isn't draining then the problem may very well be a stoppage in the kitchen waste line.
