Hello. I'm trying to disconnect the water lines under my bathroom sink in order to replace the faucet. I've unscrewed the nuts that are next to the valve, but the line won't separate and I don't want to break anything. As you can see, the nut is completely off of the threads. The lines are metal. I'm attaching a photo. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

The line and ferule are just stuck in the valve, you will have to gently wiggle them a little and pull them out. You need to have the faucet loose from the sink/countertop so it can all lift up together.

For an easier installation, you will want to replace those lines with flexible supply lines. The length required will likely be slightly longer than those copper tubes. Take those lines to the store and get the length that will mate with both ends and not cause undue stress on your supply valve or fixture.

Use some small tubing cutters to cut the chromed copper tube easily. Then it’ll come out easier.

I just get rough with it using channelocks but I’m not sure what type pipe you have in the wall. If it’s cpvc you must be super duper careful not to break the valve off. I suggest you knowing where to turn ALL the water off and prepare in advance to turn it off if things go bad.

Thank you for the replies! I wound up cutting them and moving the lines out of the way. Then, the parts left in the valves came out (one easier than the other). Thank you again.
