Hi all,
Recently I've had problems with opaque white flakes floating in the water from our refrigerator's filter system. First thought was the filter but after replacing (which we do every 6 months) and flushing with several gallons of water it didn't go away. After several more attempts at other fixes, we found that by replacing the 5' supply line from the wall to the frig, they disappeared.
Apparently it seems that the chemicals in our water supply are causing the plastic in the supply line to deteriorate and flake off.
A year later on the replaced line and the flakes are back.
Does anyone know of an alternative to the cheap supply lines purchased at the local hardware stores that will not deteriorate like this? I'm guessing something with surgical grade plastics.... or metal?
