delta help

my in laws have a 6 year old single handle pull out delta faucet. when they try and turn the faucet, rather then it turning, the whole mount is turning. i squeezed myself under the sink and i see the mounting plate (rectangular with both supplies and the pull out hose running through the middle), but do not see any nut holding it on. i am kind of stuck. any advice?

There should be a nut next to the supply lines at the base of the faucet. Check this site out, it may not be the exact faucet you have but many of the Delta kitchen faucets mount the same way. Look at the one on the right of the drawing.
