Hi,
New here and a DIY'er so bear with me.

I bought a house about 2 years ago with a walkout basement that has 1 finished (drywalled/insulated) side; the side you walk out. In one of the corners, there's a drain clean-out. I noticed water leaking around that area but thought it was due to poor grading outside the wall. I fixed that and the water went away but the area never dried out. I also noticed that the osb was pretty rotten in the area and the insulation was pretty nasty.

Today i finally got around to seeing what what was keeping things damp and found that the builder cracked a hole in the back side of the clean-out with a nail or staple from the back side and that's what's been causing my slow leak all this time. It was hidden pretty well which is why i never saw it earlier.

I'm going to attach 2 pictures to hopefully give a better idea of what I'm dealing with. Unfortunately, there's not a ton of room and I really want to avoid cracking concrete to put a new clean-out in. Any ideas would be great...

They make a tool thats called a hub saver you will be able to replace the pipeing at the top of the long sweep with this tool it goes in a drill and it shaves the pipe out of the fitting

Perfect! Any suggestions on where I could pick on of those up?

got the tool. repaired the problem and no more leaks.

Thanks

My problem is I don't do all that much plumbing being a pipeline guy, most of my stuff is big and and my fittings are ductile iron with a bunch of bolts holding everything together. You plumbers have a lot of cool tools that would come in handy for me tho.

I'm almost too embarrassed to admit this but I've had one of these in my storage cabinet for years, and for the life of me, I have no idea why or where I got it, but assumed it was just a fancy paint mixer!
