I recently had a pro plumber come out and do a CPVC repair on a leak in my bathroom. The guys let the repair sit for 45 minutes prior to pressurizing the system which I thought was probably adequate and no leak were detected.
I get the invoice from them later that evening and in big bold letters there is a warning that all CPVC repairs need to sit for 24 hours before turning the water back on. Was that a CYA on their part in case there is a leak, an oversight, or something that is actually correct?
Thank you.
Edit: The plumber called me back saying that there are two types of cement for CPVC: one a long cure and the other a short cure. They used the orange glue which is the short cure so I should be good to go.
