I am renovating my laundry area and it's time to deal with the laundry stand pipe. The attached photo shows a steel wye to a 1.5" 45 degree elbow (OD of steel pipe is ~1 7/8" which is quite close to the 1.90" of schedule 40 1.5" pipe). Then eventually down to a 1 1/4" vent pipe (OD is close to 1.66").
What I want to do is connect two wyes (on for laundry sink, one for laundry stand pipe) then above another wye for the stand pipe vent.
To do this I am planing to cut the steel pipe just above the steel 45, then either spin the stub out of the 45 or cut it with a sawsall and take the stub out in pieces. Does this sound like the right approach?
Also, what is the abs fitting called that will thread into the steel 45?
Thanks for the advice
