Hello all. I have a question or two and hoping I can find some answers here> I try to get stuff set up for my home brew setup. I have a lot of the copper cut and cleaned with a green scotch brite pad. I cleand the inside of the fittings the same way. My question is can I wipe down the copper pipe ends and the inside of the fittings with rubbing alcohol to clean any oils and or dirt off? Or will the rubbing alcohol negatively affect the solder and flux? Thanks Ken K

The flux is going to do the job you want the rubbing alcohol to do. Wasted time and effort. I would doubt a scotch pad would do an adequate job of cleaning the pipe but I haven't ever tried it.

No if you are soldering you clean the inside of the fitting the outside of the pipe the you apply solder then you solder it.
