I was having an issue with a plastic check valve coming off my pump. I upgraded to a brass swing check valve. My question is can you install a swing check valve clocked to the side or does the swing need to be on the top. Reason is i have a couple threads I could still tighten but I don't think the swing will be on the top if I do. Thanks

If it's not leaking don't turn it more. Top is best for the swing. It will still likely work fine but they are designed to have gravity help them out.

If it is a submersible pump the only check valve you want or need is the one on the pump itself. And you never want a swing check on a pump system. Spring loaded checks work much better.
