I have a under the counter electric hot water heater by Ariston, ~ 2.5 gallons.

I'm getting around to hooking up the safey valve to vent it outside, and naturally it is turned the wrong way.

Does the factory give you enough threads to go one half turn (180 degrees) so it points the way I need it to point? I don't want to damage it.

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure if I am helping you but you can adjust the amount of teflon tape to make it turned at the correct angle.

As long as you are tightening 180 degrees you should be ok. Don't know till ya try. Just cause its factory doesn't mean it's set to say a certain torque. Try and see, if its super tight then havasu has the right idea.

Those can be really tight from the factory.

I would recommend removing it, retaping and doping it, and then reinstalling it, turning it to the point you need it as it gets nice and tight.

Phish, I think I'll take your advice... Nothing like the most obvious solution being the best one! It never occurred to me...

Thanks for that! :D
