I have my own home well with a large bladder tank and 1 hp submersible pump.

Need to install a new pressure switch. I have new 40/60 psi to replace the 30/50 switch.

The tank appears OK. Recently checked it and it cycles from about 30 to 55 with the pump cycle.

As I'm increasing the pressure range with the new switch, do I need to add about 10 pound of air (to about 38psi) before closing the breaker and restarting pump to charge system?

Thanks

Increasing the air pressure in the tank is not critical. But it will make the tank a little more efficient and you will need it to be. Because the pump will cycle more at 40/60 than at 30/55.
