Getting ready to install a whole house filter & water softener.

Water meter sits inside a 3'W x 6'D closet with a grinder pump right in the middle. The softener could be placed right in front of the pump and would have enough room to service but if I ever needed to get to the pump I'd be SOL.

Unfinished section of basement is 35' away. Would you install next to meter or run 70'ish feet of pex out to (and back), the unfinished section?

Could you mount the softener up on the wall ? I don’t know your height limitations

If you installed it where it could be removed easily it’s not a big deal.

A lot of the softeners have an easy disconnect to remove them. If yours doesn't, put unions on the in and out of
the softener and then if you ever have to work on the sewage pump it will be easy to get softener out of the way.

Done! Super tight quarters, and, of course the valving hit the grinder discharge, which had to be "rerouted" :pissed:.

But once that was done, it fit perfectly UNITL I filled the unit with salt/water!

Wasn't thinking it would belly-out which pushed it up against the door. :pissed::pissed:

It'll shut with some coaxing but went from fitting perfect to, "you should have designed that better!" :O)
