Hi all. I am planning on how to do plumbing in my to be bathroom and I am having a little trouble thinking of a way to vent my shower. I attached couple photos of my project and my ideas.

Idea 1
Idea 2

My concern in both examples is that the vent would be horizontal before becoming vertical which I am not sure if is allowed and if it would perform as it should. Greatly appreciate your criticism and suggestions! Thanks!

Are you allowed to have horizontal section of vent below flood rim level like that tho?

I am not too sure, i saw couple examples showing this type of venting. However, I am little out of choices here. If the drain could be run through those 2 joist at the wall i could just 45 angle to the vertical vent in the wall, but I dont want to be drilling new holes when there are existing ones a little further. So here I am trying to figure out how to do this...

905.3 upc unless prohibited by structural conditions [loop hole]

vent shall rise ..6'' above flood level

I would give the inspector a courtesy call, to say hello, so he is aware BEFORE
he comes to inspect. then it would be a non issue

on the toilet, 2'' vent. no longer than 6' any longer, then it has to increase to 3''

it has to be rolled, if not, it is illegal as hell

my advice, drill new holes.

6' until the vertical part, is it correct?

About the new holes. When I placed the trap to be as low as possible, checked the height of the hole id have to cut, it would be 1.5" from the top. Guidelines for holes suggest not to drill anything above or bellow the joist less than 2". Maybe a smaller pipe for shower?

Might just have to do some structural supporting modifications if you're that concerned

Well gotta pick 1 of the two evils.. Support the joist (can't really sister them whole length since there are ledgers for lowered floor) or do rolled horizontal vents. Thoughts?

you have only 2 avenues as far as plumbing

stacked or rolled

I don't think I can stack.. main stack runs in the wall in the middle of the kitchen so any stacking probably wouldn't be viable. Correct me if I am wrong.

In your opinion, is rolled venting something to be avoided, or they perform just as well?
