Hi guys ,

I need a safe way to pump water from my overflow (that otherwise would be going to my sump constantly) into a drain instead

overflow drain.png
Something like this where the overflow is going constantly to the sump'.

I will be using a drip system from the mains water adding a few gallons an hour to the sump, So i need to drain the sump when the water hits a certain level using a float switch , but rather than pumping filtered water from my sump into a drain, I would like to tap into the system between the overflow and sump to pump dirty water instead while my sump pump feeds filtered water to my tank until the levels are back to normal at which point the drain pump will stop and water will continue to flow into the sump.

Only thing i don't know is what to put in that red square xD

seems i need something i can link to the float switch to switch the direction of the flow (when the switch is tripped i don't want any water going into the sump at all)

What can I use?

thanks
