are these water restrictors in this faucet

hello,, got this unit off ebay, I was wondering what these white plastic things do at the water inlets of this faucet

the center of them seem to be on a spring,, anyway I was thinking of removing these things to get better water flow but I want to make sure that's what these things are before destroying the unit.

Those are check valves.

If you remove them you will create a cross-connection between the hot and cold loops of your water system...that would be a bad thing.
