Air in pipes after water tx backwash

Last few months, we get terrible noises when we flush, shower, run water right after our water treatment tank backwashes. What would be causing air in the water lines?
 
I'm assuming the lack of an air vent would cause these terrible noises. Does it sound like a hammer is beating your pipes? Your most likely missing a water hammer arrestor in certain parts of your system.

I was waiting for a reply to this and missed it... :(

How would you properly vent a system to bleed out any trapped air? I have seen photos of a vent installed next to a expansion tank at that high point. Is this feasible?

Is the valve shown below correct for his usage?
