Hey guys I'm new and remodeling my bathroom.

I have used mission clamps to tie cast into plastic before but this situation is different. it is the upstairs bathroom. I have to move the toilet 6 inches to the left as you look at the picture because of code ceiling height requirements. My question is how do I tie this into cast legally.. I assume I have to cut the wye out with a soil snapper but that seems impossible because the cast wye goes into the other floor to which I have no access:mad: unless I remove a bunch of plaster which I don't want to do.. Is there anyway to extend this.. What is the easiest way? Thanks

in the first picture, 6'' to the left is twards the beam
in the other picture 6'' to the left is away from the beam.

i will call the 1st pic pic A
2nd is pic B

which direction is ths toilet moving ?
if, 6'' in pic A you have a code problem. toliet minimum from side wall is 15'' from finished walll to center toilet

Right im not moving it towards the exterior wall but the other way. I clear 15inches from the wall and the tub that you are not seeing in the picture. Also where the toilet ring is .. 100 years ago or so they decided to cut out a joist and it just rests on that. I'm confident I can move it with a 45 .. And move it 6 inches but I don't know how to connect it to the cast.. Do I have to do a new wye at the 4 inch waste stack?I think the inspector said donuts are illegal so I'm just not sure how to tie it all together thanks

I do not know what you guys are calling a donut

a tyseal eztite gasket is not illegal

Thank you for the replies. I have not ripped out anything more yet. However i found this post on another website and i would think about doing something simular. Without the fernco.. cause i think those are only used for underground? could i just use the fernco that is at the bottom of my post?

in the picture below is that legal? and something i could do if so? what parts would i need?

Thanks

Yes you can legally use a transitional band( proflex) to tie in your wc flange

the fernco you show in your picture is not legal, you need to use the proflex shielded band.

what you have installed is a toilet paper catcher, with no support on the connection

you need a proflex - 3005-43
or a fernco P-430

Do I have to use abs plastic then?

if lanoleum. your ok

if tile, you need to shim up 3/8'' if using thin set

i'm sorry i don't follow.

the other pictures with the soil pipe cutter and the pvc attatched with the fernco is not my project. i found that on the internet. The other pictures in my first post are mine.

Thanks,
