I am buying a new house and have a large family. I would love to be able to install 2 sets of stacked front loader washer-dryer combos in the laundry room. There is only one connection etc. I can cut a hole for second dryer vent. I've done this before. But the plumbing issues with the water lines and drainage lines are a concern. I also have to think about the electrical for the dryer. CAN a second washer be connected by splitting lines and drains??? Is there any electrical issue with a washer? That is just a standard plug,110, right? Thanks in advance!

Sharing the water supply lines wouldn't be too much of a problem. The worst that would happen is that if both machines were drawing water at the same time, it would take them longer to fill. But the drain line would be a problem. I wouldn't want 2 machines to be discharging into a single drain at the same time, the drain line quite possibly wouldn't keep up.

Electrical? I can't comment, not in my line.

Thanks phishfood. I had thought about that too. I wonder if I could increase the diameter of the existing drain for the first couple of feet then let it narrow down before it goes into the slab out of easy reach? Would the extra diameter for an extra few feet help? Just a thought...

no it woul;d still spill over. what diameter is the pipe you speak of?? 2" pipe can accept 7 dfu's on a branch, how many dfu are the washers?

I had gone through the post. The problem of yours might be solved by having the drain pipe. If you have maintain the drain pipe correctly, your problem will be solved to a great extent. The end of the rubber connection is narrower than the end of the extension that leads to the waste outlet. So what i probably suggest is some kind of connector which is enough narrow to fit snugly into the rubber pipe.and wide enough the other side to fill the plastic end of the other side that is the extension side.

are you saying to use some sort of mission band, and force the water down the drain? that would not be a wise idea... to solve this problem is, bottom line start the machines at different times... simple
