Which sump pump should I buy?

Want to replace my old 30 year old sump pump since I'm not sure when it will fail and I don't know if I'll be here when it does and I figure I might as well since I'm going to be adding in a battery back up sump pump. Which brand should I get? I see the Zoeller and Liberty brand have good reviews. In case it might help, here are a couple pictures of my sump pit and pump...the first is of the pit compared to a 5 gallon bucket (bucket is smaller) and the second is of the inside of the pit and the pump. You can't go wrong with a Zoeller either. I sold Myers for a number of years and had very good luck with their higher end models.

Are Liberty pumps made in America? I asked them and they said they are "assembled in America" which isn't the same.

I've been using a Liberty 457 pump in my sump for years. I can't see your pictures for some reason, but the 457 is made specifically for smaller basins, which I have. Very quiet and strong. I highly recommend.

Snap a couple pictures of the discharge you have, that may help determine what you need for a replacement pump. I wouldn't replace that pump until it quits working, but it would be a good idea to figure out what you need to move the water (HP) and have it ready to swap in when the old one quits. Don't worry about the switch, that's very common and still sold today, but there are other floats (like the one installed on the pump I mentioned above) that will work.
