Turn it on normally and I hear the hum but obviously nothing is working. I hit the reset which did nothing. I turned the flywheel manually both ways and flip the disposal on. It comes on for a second and sounds like something hard is stuck in there and then turns off. I've fished out everything I can from reaching down into the disposal. Apparently something small and hard made it beyond my hands reach and is forcing a shutoff. What's my next step? I could flip the breaker off and take this thing apart, but don't know if that's what I need... Thanks in advance.

Never mind. Felt something tiny and hard wedged into a far corner. Played with it for a while. Apparently my roommate thought nails were disposable. FML. Working fine now.

Thanks for letting us know you got it fixed. Since that nail possible did some damage, run a bunch of ice cubes to clean up and knock down any unwanted burrs inside.
