The pressure box on our well got a leak and was spraying water but even harder water was coming out this valve on top of the well pipe. Pressure valve? Has threads in it but nothing screwed in not does it appear anything ever has.
What is on top of well pipe?

That is a pressure relief valve. Most will not open until the pressure reaches 150 PSI or more.
Do you know how much pressure was in the pipe? Maybe just a bad PRV?
