Weird water loop

Hey guys,

Non-plumber here trying to install a new Pelican whole house water softener. The installation is pretty straight-forward but the loop in my 2 year old DR. Horton home does not look like any other images or videos that I've seen. There seem to be a downward copper pipe dead center in the loop that i don't know what it is. I have attached a picture of the loop hoping that one of you guys can tell me what I'm looking at.

cut it loose and see if that is your hose bibs [blow thru it and see what it is]

And if it's not, what do i do at that point?

you have options
put it back together or cap it off

if you want to know what it is, you gotta cut it and blow it to find out

Sometimes builders install loops to add water softeners/conditioners.
The 1/2" might be to a hose bib, for the option of not connecting the bib to the conditioned water.
