I have a 3/4" PVC line running into my basement from the roadside valve. A while ago i noticed water leaking through the concrete entry penetration into the basement.

I dug a hole outside and located the pipe and penetration and noticed that at a point about 3 ft away from the wall the PCV line was 8" higher than the penetration and the pipe was just sloped/bent down towards to the penetration. The leak was created where the pipe was hard against the outside of the penetration at the foundation.

To lessen the risk of a future leak I added two 90 deg bends and an 8" down low so that it neatly passed through the penetration. (That would also me much easier with a picture so I added a sketch if that helps.)

All is well from a flow point of view. But I wonder if i have caused the line to be noisier just when water is running anywhere in the house you can hear the flow noise. I am also experiencing some water hammer when shutting off faucets.

The noisier pipes may just be my imagination, the water hammer is not terrible be definitely there.

Did my added bends cause some other issues?

Thanks

Steve
