I just bought a house that has a Delta Victorian faucet in the kitchen. http://www.deltafaucet.com/parts/id-my-product/kitchen/product.html?sku=155-SS-DST#wiz

The issue is when I turn on the water it comes out of the sprayer instead of the faucet, when I press the button on the sprayer only then will it come out of the faucet. It appears that something is backwards to have the water primarily come out of the sprayer instead of the faucet.

Any thoughts?

The 3 way adapter in red box is where the water flow is diverted between the spout and the hose.

Normally there is water pressure to the hand held unit. Flow from hand unit is caused by squeezing the hand unit trigger. Flow to hand unit causes a small check valve in the three way adapter to shift stopping water from flowing from spout. Most likely the trigger in the hand unit is stuck or some how backwards.
When you active the trigger you are actually closing the hand unit of instead of opening. Just replace the hand unit and hose. That should correct your problem.
