Washing machine hoses for water softener hookup

Is it okay to use washing machine hoses for connecting a water softener? Hopefully I can find some under 5ft, but they are very flexible and having a 90deg fitting on one end would be helpful to my setup. Is there anything about them that would make them not work and I should just stick to regular flexible water hoses, like for a hot water heater? Thanks.

Auto washer hoses are going to have a smaller inside diameter than water heater supplies therefore possibly effecting over all volume flow into what ever you are supplying. If you are installing a water softner on your car wash/ detail trailer then AW hose will probably be okay.

Thanks, that is what I was thinking.

I have yet to find a very flexible water heater hose, its changing how I want to position some of the valves and such. Hopefully I can find one with a 90 deg fitting, or will just buy one additionally.

Hard pipe it in with whatever piping material the rest of your house is piped with.
