I am looking to move my washer and dryer to another wall in the basement. I have everything planned except the drain line for the washer. To make the move I would need to cut off the trap, extend the pipe 5 feet, make a 90 degree to another wall, extend another 4 feet or so and replace the trap. I will make sure the pipe is well secured and supported and that it runs at a downward slope for drainage purposes.

I know how to run the PVC but my question is...is this okay? Is this too long of a pipe? I live in Maryland and I am not sure about the code. Any help would be appreciated. Here are a couple of pics with the current setup. Thanks for the help in advance.

You will be too far from the existing vent. I assume the vertical line between the existing trap and the main line is the vent. You could pipe the existing vent line over head to your new location.

I assumed that was too far but thought I would ask anyway! I decided just to leave it in place and move some other things around. Thanks for the help. :)
