I'm about to test this setup by running the washing machine. Who thinks this won't work and why? What you are looking at is 9 feet of 3/4" SCH40 PVC from the washing machine drain to the 1 1/2" PVC tee and then through the p-trap and out to the main drain line.
I don't like to violate code but sometimes it's the only reasonable option.

Thanks.

So you are draining a washing machine, a kitchen sink, and maybe even a dishwasher through an 1 1/2" line?

And it appears as though it is a metallic line, with the attendant scale buildup.

I could go on, but I won't.

I surely hope that you aren't a professional plumber.

It's a condo so I'm stuck with 1 1/2". It used to have a 1 1/4" waste line so I removed it and went with the 1 1/2". I did remove all the buildup inside the pipe before threading the pvc fitting in. I will be sure not to use the dishwasher and washer at the same time.

I'm definitely not a pro plumber but this setup is working great. My only concern is that the back pressure on the washer drain may cause the pump to burn out prematurely.

Update: So far so good. No leaks and no water backing up into the sink.

The manufacturer allows the drain hose to be as high as 96". Mine is currently at about 46". Maybe the additional 50" of water head drain pumping capacity is overcoming the added drain flow restrictions that I've placed in the system.

Not to be a negative nellie, but there doesn't seem to be any means to turn the washer machine supply lines off. As for the drainage... 'nuff said.

There is a 90 degree shutoff valve for each tee. It will shut off both the sink faucet and washer. Thanks for reminding me that I need a couple of caps in case of washer removal though.
