Good evening to everyone. I am in a new construction home in South Carolina. I want to install a vent free Nat Gas wall heater in my garage. My water heater is on a stand in the garage. The current gas supply comes out of the wall about two inches. It is a shutoff valve. The yellow flex gas line runs from that to the water heater. I was wondering what the professional way of tapping into the line. I assume the shutoff stays in place and I screw a t fitting on where the gas line is now and reconnect both appliances. The wall heater already has the regulator attached. Is it just as simple as running a new gas line to the heater or do I have to provide a loop or dirt leg like a furnace or water heater? I just want to do it right and not sloppy. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!! SORRY FOR THE BIG PIC

It is necessary for each appliance to have its own gas shut off valve. A black pipe tee with a couple of nipples, then the valves, then the flex pipe should get you what you want....provided the wall heater will accept such a small pipe. Most wall heaters I've seen requires a minimum 1" pipe due to the volume of the gas needed to run the heater.
