 We installed a UV Light about 5 yrs ago...As the unit comes complete with Transformer/Controller that counts down from 365 to 0 , giving off an audible beep when bulb should be replaced..Pressing the Reset a Button twice will bring up a 2nd Count which will only count as high as 1680 days , according to the Manual that number cannot be reset..My question, Does that mean the Transformer / Controller has to be Replaced now as well ??

I'm not sure what UV Light set-up you have but Transformers / Controllers are usually replaced when they fail (no longer working at all). Provide more info like name, model of the UV system and someone hear may be able to help or contact the customer service of the product.

;) It's a BA-ICE-S Electronic Controller for Sterlight UV Lights...

:eek::cool: That exact Manual came with the Sterlight UV Light...I've replaced the UV Bulb 4 times now and went through the Reset proceeder successfully for the 365 countdown each time...We have 1 more day left on the Countdown, my concern was and I'm sure we're coming close to the 1680 count limit...As I've no idea of the replacement cost for a Controller and according to the Instructions there is no reset instruction or indicator for that aspect...

It just appears to be a Flat Out Planned Obcelesencz built into the Controller...If so Bummer...lol..

Norplan, I could be wrong but I think the day counter will revert back to 1 when it counts to 1680 days. I think the counter is a way to track the system life for warranties. I've worked around transformers and circuit boards in the HVAC field and never heard of a count down to termination period. Looking at the manual it states the unit have a 5/7 year warranty. 1680 days is less than 5 years ,so if the unit fails after the 1680 and before the 5 year period the company will be loosing lot of money. Contact the manufacture to verify

:);) @ IFIXH20...The Unit gave it audible chirp last night to swap out the UV bulb...I've done that and reset the 365 to 0 counter, will be checking the counter this evening...Also double clicked the Reset Button and the 2nd number showed 1981 days in use which comes out to 5.4 yrs we've had this UV light in service..So if as You say in keeping within the time frame of the warranty period 5/7 yrs..As long as the 1st part 365 to 0 keeps counting down, that's all we can ask for at the moment...lol...:cool:
