I'm looking to add a utility sink to my basement.
We have city sewer and I already broke up my slab and ran my drain pipe, but the venting is throwing me for a loop.
We live in MA, which I believe had code requiring a future vent to be in all new construction. I found what I think is the vent (ran all the faucets in the house and no water enters this run), but it's not labeled.
The pipe connects to the bathroom sink drain line (which I'm guessing is to drain away condensation).
Two questions:
1: Is there an absolute way to confirm this is a vent?
2: If it is a vent, do I need to cut out the bathroom sink portion and cap it, or can I simply Leave It as is and run my pipes to it.
