Tub over sink or toilet?

We are expanding our master bathroom and in order to do this we are knocking down the wall between the half bath and our bath. When we install the new shower we are wondering if we can use the existing toilet and sink plumbing or do we need new drains installed.............

Also is there an easy way to cap off the old one?
