I heard the sound of leaking when I walked by my bathroom. I saw a single water droplet dropping in the toilet bowl, but it sounded like there were other leaks in the wall. I flushed the toilet for lack of knowing what else to do and the water rose to the rim. I started plunging it and it didn't help at all. It sometimes needs a plunge, but it always clears quickly. I didn't notice when it was used last that it was stopped up or refusing to flush.

I left to get a container to take some of the water out of the bowl so it would stop overflowing when I plunged. I came back -- it was as I left it, water still to the top and not moving. And then just all the sudden, without me having touched it, it made that swooshing pipe sound of a flush inside the wall, like in the pipes, and all the water drained out of the bowl. The leaking has stopped as well.

To be clear, I hadn't plunged it again, or even touched it, since I left to get a container.

I flushed it again and it works fine. Does this sound like a symptom of something that could get worse in the future?

Thanks in advance!

Probably nothing to worry about. Chances are that it was a stoppage in the bowl and it cleared it self. Use it. ifconcerned calla plumber
