Hi plumbing people. I've used the plastic shims but they seem really hard to cut. Do you recommend using a wood shim? Or any cutting suggestions?

Wood + water= ......
Make a mark where need to be cut it, pull it and use an small hacksaw.

I use the white ones that are a little softer.
Those are hard to cut but they will cut with a SHARP utility blade.
Just takes a bit more effort. You could heat the blade up with lighter.
Just be careful if you have vinyl floor under it.

They actually cut very easily but you have to have a wood chisel. They shear very nicely with a firm/smart tap of a hammer. They are great. You don’t have to remove them and I’ve never had a problem and I have been using them for more than 25 years

Home Depot sells black plastic wedges that have breakable areas.. I used them before they work great
