Thermal Expansion Tank

I am in the process of building a new home that will have a well for its water supply. My plumber has told me I need to get a pressure tank. My question is can a large capacity themal expansion tank be used as a pressure tank. I have found a great deal on a 44 gallon freestanding thermal expansion tank made by zurn and was wondering if it would work as a pressure tank or do I just need to buy a pressure tank.

You need a pressure tank for the well -- expansion tank & pressure tank operates a bit different.

you mean the are used to accomplish different things but a therm exp tank can be used in place of a well pressure tank.

only difference is size and plumbing.

you need to figure out the pressure tank size required for your system.

cross reference that with the other tank

if it is the correct size. anything can be repurposed,
