tankless co2 adjustment

Just installed a tankless and adjusted the co2 levels but have a question about the settings affect on efficiency.
So the table gives the final adjustment settings as:
Final co2 readings need to=
P1-max input 9.7%
P2-min input 9.7%

Currently my settings are P1=9.6%/ P2=10.1%

My question being does the efficiency of the appliance go up the closer each setting is to 9.7%?
Currently my meter is saying the efficiency is like 78%.
If I continue to get my readings closer to 9.7% will my efficiency go up?
Manual states the appliance recovery efficiency being 86.5% efficient.
