Sump pump - replace or repair after stuck on....

Got up this morning and heard a hum from basement. Zoeller 53D stuck on pumping no water. Unit was warm, plug was warm. Float no effect. Likely switch failure. Was just going to replace the switch but 2 things bugging me:

1. With it being left on and running hot for undetermined period of time, possibly damaged or other components?
2. Inside switch housing obvious signs of some water and corrosion. See pic below.

Change it out. Just curious. What is the date code on it?
