I am trying to replace the cartridge for my bathroom faucet (Gerber 40-500 series) but cannot get the plastic retainer nut off. I have tried using a hammer, heating it with a dryer, heating with boiling water, etc. It's nearly impossible to use a wrench because there is so little clearance. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
