Strange sound, can't figure out

A new water heater was installed a few months ago and I used Shark Bite water lines. The cold water line's valve did not close all the way and would let a little bit of water through, so I replaced just that cold water line/valve. After replacing, my water heater makes a funny noise only when the hot water is on. The more I turn on the hot water faucet the louder the sound gets. When I close the ball valve the sound does not happen. Please see video, it sounds like it's coming from the top of the water heater

It’s probably those flex lines. I’d replace those with hard copper or ignore it…

My 2nd guess but I highly doubt, could be heat traps in the inlet/outlet nipples.
 
Also I should note my gas is not on so nor is the heating element, because I'm not living there right now. But it was like that with the old lines
