A shower leak in a shower turned into a total bath remodel. A Moen valve in the adjacent Roman tub had a small leak, so we decided to change out the whole fixture's valve. The old construction was copper from the floor leading into the Moen valves. As the tub isn't installed yet, I could see the plumber installed new angle stop valves under the tub today, connected to the new faucet valves with stainless steel braided hoses similar to the ones used under a sink. Unfortunately, the space under the tub doesn't have access where the angle stops are located. I imagine these hoses will fail before the copper would, so am I looking at having to replace these hoses every 15 years like the washing machine hose? And that means lifting the tub out. If there's a problem here, I won't know it until there's a lot of water everywhere.
