Hello All,
I am a home owner and like to learn and do my own fixes when it is reasonable. I have Delta 1700 series shower faucets in a double shower. Both were leaking so I recently replaced the cartridges. The replacements were from Ace Hardware. One was ace brand, the other was a different brand, but not Delta. After I installed the cartridges, one side started squeaking when I turned the handle right away. The other one started squeaking recently when you turn the handle the noise stops after you turn the handle. It is not the water coming through the shower, rather just the handle I think it seems like everything says I need to lubricate my problem is I’m not sure where in the cartridge Faucet I need to put the lubrication. I tried to find pictures and I could not find any or a video.

Return those cartridges and buy Delta factory cartridges.

That’s the best advice you’ll get.

Now if you wanted to buy some silicone grease and pull the cartridges apart and grease the orings you could do that.
