Hoping this is the right section and aloud to post here. I bought this home and this is the system it currently has. I’m trying to figure out what this circled piece is? The house when I bought had an issue with iron and I’m assuming this is what was put in to fix the situation. Can anyone elaborate on what this is and I’m assuming if it is for iron that it should be installed before the softener? All help and input is appreciated. Thanks!
PS. Im looking to install a whole house filter and would like to know if there are better ways to work this system than what is installed here.
